“Alantas is committed to protecting the privacy of its users and customers. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you about how we collect, define and use the personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, address, other contact details or online identifiers, that you provide to us through the use of the Platform (“Personal Data”), as well as the types of cookies we use. Please take the time to read this Privacy Policy carefully.

What information do we collect?

We may collect the following information when you visit and/or use our platform or contact us:

personal data that you choose to share with us in order to create an account, subscribe to emails, newsletters and alerts, and that you provide when you use our services, or in the form of comments, ratings or survey responses. When placing an order or submitting an evaluation, you may voluntarily provide us with special categories of personal data if it is needed for the service you wish to order or evaluate (e.g. related to your health or nationality);

information about your visits to and use of the Platform, such as information about the device and browser you use, your IP address and location, your advertising identifier (IDFA), the date and time of your visit, the duration of your visit, the referral source and the navigation patterns of the Site after your visit to the Platform and your browsing activity.

It is important that any personal data you provide to us when you register as a user or otherwise use the Platform is true and accurate. This means, for example, that you must always ensure that your contact details (including your email address) are correct.

If you intend to provide us with another person’s data, for example by ordering services on behalf of another person, you should only provide us with the third party’s data with their consent and after you have informed them of how we will use their data, including for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

Protection of your personal data

The transmission of information over the internet is not completely secure. And while we are committed to making every effort to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your personal data transmitted on our platform. By transmitting any information, you assume the risks associated with its transmission. Once we receive your personal data, we will apply strict procedures and security measures in relation to such data.

How do we use your personal data?

Basically, we use personal data to provide the services and goods you have ordered, to provide customer service, to provide our content and advertisements that we think may be of interest to you, to carry out customer research, to send marketing and promotional emails, and to inform you about important changes to our platform.

We may also use your personal data for the following purposes:

To perform a contract or take steps related to a contract. This is relevant when you order a service from Alantas. This includes:

sending you information about the services you have booked (e.g. visit reminders) by email, SMS or push notifications;
facilitating the placing of orders and accepting payments

To carry out Alantas’ activities and legitimate interests and in particular:

ensure the security of your platform and systems and prevent fraud, security incidents and other crimes;
to verify compliance with our terms and conditions and to make, enforce or defend against legal claims;
inform you about new Alantas products and special offers that we think would be of value to you, for example, by email and by displaying advertisements on third-party websites such as Facebook (where consent is not required);
tailor marketing messages and advertising to you based on the information you provide and information about your use of our platform, products and services and other websites (for more information, please see the section on cookies in this Privacy Policy);
to monitor, improve and protect our platform, products and services, and to personalise our platform, products and services (including those of our partners) according to your needs, based on the information you provide to us and information about your use of our platform, products and services and other websites (for more information, please refer to the section of this privacy policy on cookies);
to investigate and respond to questions or complaints you or others may have about our platform, products or services;
Conduct internal research and analysis to measure how our platform, products and services are being used and how our business is doing;
market research and customer surveys
aggregate and publish ratings on products and services offered by our partners and use them for advertising campaigns;
use customer communications for training, records and quality control. If you call our customer service team, please note that this will be recorded and your call may be recorded. We will inform you that your call is being recorded and give you the opportunity to opt out of the recording if you wish and inform you of the ways to do so;
to deal with an application for a job at Alantas submitted on the website, including contacting recommenders. The information you provide will be retained for 12 months and may be used again if you decide to apply for a job with Alantas in the future.

With your consent:

to inform you about new Alantas products and special offers that we think may be of value to you, for example, by email or by displaying advertisements on third-party websites such as Facebook (where consent is required);
to send you information about competitions and surveys, promotions from our partners and information about goods and services from other selected third parties.
to transfer your personal data to our partners and other selected third parties.
to use cookies and similar technologies in accordance with the provisions of the cookies section of this Privacy Policy and the information provided to you about when these technologies are used;
Otherwise, where we ask for your consent, we will only use your personal data for the specific purpose for which we asked for your consent.

For the purposes set out in the legislation:

to respond to enquiries from investigating government or law enforcement authorities;
to meet legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.

Withdrawal of consent or other objection to processing for direct marketing purposes

Whenever we process personal data on the basis of your consent, you will always have the possibility to withdraw your consent, although we may have other legal grounds for processing your personal data for the other purposes mentioned above. In some cases, we may also provide you with direct marketing communications without your consent on the basis of our legitimate interests. You have the absolute right to opt-out of direct marketing at any time. You can do so by following the instructions in the email message or by contacting us as set out below.

If you would like to unsubscribe from Alantas communications sent to you, you can do so by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the emails we send you, or by contacting us at info@alantas.lt In the case of email marketing, please allow up to 48 working hours for your email address to be removed from our system.
To unsubscribe from communications from partners and other third parties, please contact the relevant partner or third party directly. In the case of our partners, if you need assistance, we will be happy to help you to the best of our ability.
To stop receiving active notifications in the app, you can opt out by deactivating the permission to send active notifications in the app in your phone’s operating system settings.

Transfer of personal data to third parties

We take the security of your personal data and the way in which we process such data very seriously. We will never sell your personal data under any circumstances.

For media agencies and advertising partners to carry out targeted marketing campaigns (for more information on online advertising practices, please see the section on cookies in this privacy policy).
Other third parties to facilitate our activities and improve our products, content, services or advertising, for example, by sending email communications or posting feedback about our or our partners’ products and services.
In the event of a sale, purchase or transfer of our business or assets, or if we are subject to insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings. In such a case, we may need to disclose your personal data to the seller or buyer of such business or assets as appropriate.
If we are required to disclose or transfer your personal data in order to comply with a legal obligation or to enforce or apply our terms and conditions and other agreements, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations involved in fraud prevention and credit risk reduction.
To public authorities and other third parties as required or permitted by law, including but not limited to the enforcement of court orders. We may also disclose user information if we have reason to believe that an individual is harming our rights or property, other users of our platform, or others who may be harmed by such activity.

Remark. The personal data that you post on the publicly accessible part of our platform (e.g. ratings/feedback sections) may be collected by third parties whose actions are beyond our control. We are not responsible for how such third parties use your data.

For this reason, please think carefully before disclosing any personal data, as it will be published in publicly accessible parts of the platform. You should also avoid disclosing personal data that can be used to identify you (such as your name, age, home or work address or the name of your employer) on publicly accessible parts of the Platform.

Rights relating to your personal data

In all cases where we collect your personal data, you have the right to:

request a copy of your personal data;
request the rectification, erasure or restriction of processing of personal data;
receive personal data that you have provided to us for contractual purposes or with your consent, structured in electronic format, and ask us to transfer this information to another organisation;
to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances (in particular, where we are not required to process your personal data in order to comply with a contractual or other legal obligation or where we use the data for direct marketing).

In the first case, you will be able to view and modify the data provided to us by logging into your online account.

Your rights in relation to personal data may be limited from time to time. For example, if we have to disclose another person’s personal data in order to comply with your request, or if we are subject to a legal requirement or have a valid legal basis to continue processing your personal data that you have requested to be erased.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint if you believe that your personal data has been improperly handled. We encourage you to contact us in the first instance, but if this right applies to you, you also have the right to contact the relevant supervisory authority directly.

Social media and user-generated content

Some of our platforms allow users to host their own content. Please remember that any content hosted on any of our platforms will be publicly visible, so you should be careful when submitting certain personal information, such as financial information or address, on those platforms. We are not responsible for the actions of others when you post personal information on any of our social media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram. Please refer to the relevant privacy and cookie policy documents of the social media platforms used.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

If we decide to change our privacy policy and procedures, we will post the changes on our platform so that you know what data we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we may disclose it.

Place of storage of your personal data

The personal data we collect may be transferred and stored outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including to certain third parties for the purposes of processing it in order to facilitate Alantas’ activities. Non-EEA countries may have legislation in place that does not provide the same level of protection for personal data as EEA countries. In such a case, we undertake to put in place appropriate safeguards to ensure that such transfers meet the requirements of applicable data protection legislation.

Data storage

We will retain your personal data for as long as necessary to carry out the activities set out in this Privacy Policy or any other activities that you have otherwise instructed us to carry out, or for as long as permitted by applicable law. If you apply to Alantas for a job on the website, the information you provide will be retained for 12 months and may be used again if you decide to apply for a job with Alantas again in the future.

Our Cookie Policy

As with other commercial websites and apps, our platform uses standard technologies for the purposes set out below, including cookies and similar tools, such as site server logs, site beacons, access keys, pixel tags, local storage, device identifiers and tracking identifiers (collectively referred to as “cookies” in this Privacy Policy).

Please note that third parties collect and use data through the use of cookies placed on our platform. This Privacy Policy may not describe the privacy practices of such third parties. Why do we use cookies?

Strictly necessary / for the purpose of carrying out transactions

The cookies used for this purpose are necessary for the proper functioning of our platform. They may be needed to allow you to navigate the platform and use its features, for system administration, for fraud prevention, to keep you logged in even when you move from one page to another, or to remember what you have put in your basket. These cookies cannot be disabled as our platform will not function properly without them.

For functionality purposes

Cookies used for this purpose allow us to improve and simplify the user experience. For example, cookies store your preferences, such as the country from which you are visiting our platform, language, search parameters such as date, location, and they help us to detect platform problems (e.g. incidents where the system is down). For operational efficiency purposes

Cookies used for this purpose allow us to better understand how many users visit our platform, how visitors discover us, how they browse or use our platform and which parts of our platform are the most popular. This data allows us to improve the platform, such as navigation and user interface, and to improve our products and services. To do this, we collect information about how people use our platform and use third party technologies for this purpose, including but not limited to Google Analytics, Snowplow, Optimizely, Hotjar, AppsFlyer, Fabric Analytics, Firebase and Crashlytics. We also use these cookies to measure the effectiveness of our online marketing and advertising. We use third-party cookies for this purpose, including but not limited to Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Snowplow, Impact Radius, Awin, DoubleClick Floodlight, Bing and other tools available on social media platforms (including Facebook and Snapchat).

“Hotjar is a software we use to improve the user experience on our website (www.hotjar.com), 3 Lyons Range, 20 Bisazza Street, Sliema SLM 1640, Malta, Europe). “Hotjar helps us to understand how users use our website (mouse movements, clicks, scrolling action, etc.). For this purpose, Hotjar uses analytical cookies to collect non-personally identifiable information, including standard online log-in information and data about the behavioural patterns of visitors when visiting our website. By using our website, you are aware of and consent to our privacy practices as well as those of Hotjar. For customisation or promotional purposes

Cookies used for this purpose allow us to serve advertisements both on and offline on the Platform, as well as to collect information about your browsing habits and use of the Platform, so that we can serve you relevant and tailored advertisements. We may use remarketing technologies to allow third parties to serve relevant and tailored advertisements to you through their networks. They may also be used to determine whether you have seen a particular advertisement, to limit the number of times an advertisement is shown, and to help measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign. We use third-party technologies for this purpose, including, but not limited to, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sovendus, Affiliate People, Snowplow, DoubleClick Floodlight, Google Analytics Audiences, Facebook Analytics, Bing and AppsFlyer. Technology is also hosted by social media sites for advertising and customisation purposes (including Facebook, Pinterest and Snapchat).

These technologies remember the websites you have visited and this information is shared with other parties such as advertisers. We may disclose the following when we use third-party services for advertising and personalisation purposes:

identifying information such as email address, order number, location;
general, aggregated or personalised data relating to your visit and use of our platform; or
pseudonymised data, such as a browser cookie identifier/code or a cryptographic digest of your email address, which helps us to tailor and serve advertisements to you when you use the services of other providers. This identifier or code is linked to a corresponding unique code of yours, which is created by our advertising partners to tailor advertisements to you.

Please note that if you opt out of our electronic marketing communications in the ways described in the section “Withdrawal of consent or other objection to data processing for direct marketing purposes”, you may still see our non-targeted advertisements while browsing the website, provided that your preferences on Facebook related to your interests are aligned with the audience segment (as determined by Facebook) to which our activities are relevant. We cannot control the display of these advertisements to you.
